Summer Reading

This summer, we got the kids signed up for our Arlington library's reading program.  We just kept track of how many minutes we were reading to the kids each day.  Then we logged it, and brought the minutes to our librarian.  She would give the kids coupons and little gadgets and put their names up on the wall of the library when they reached certain goals!  Reese didn't get as many minutes as James.   She is a little squirmy thing when you read to her right now.  But we could read to James forever!  (Especially if it kept him from bed time :)  We read not minutes, but HOURS to him over the course of the summer.  And we got some good practice going in and out of the library checking out new books and trying to stay quiet :)

Justin reading to James at night :)

James adored his library books.  We would find him lining them all up in a row some mornings.

The kids each got a coupon for a free ice cream cone at our new SONIC!

Reese LOVED hers!

Ooooh...COLD!

More please :)

This is just a funny video of our time there :)

(when you hear me say, "Aw I missed Reese drinking water", what I mean is that Reese had just started to drink water from a sippy cup, and she had this hilarious way of sucking up the water so that her cheeks would go in and out!  It was so funny, but I missed capturing it!)

hmm...I think we need to teach James how to eat the cone.
I don't think this way will work :)

Yay!  When you turn in your library books, you get to get new ones!
We have been consistently getting books about fire trucks, construction trucks, airplanes and of course, TRAINS.  We have actually now checked out every train book our little library has to offer. ;)
